Since leather products have an extremely high aesthetic value and the durability of this material is long, it is good to have some basic information for their maintenance.

The purpose of maintaining leather goods is to preserve their characteristics during use for as long as possible. Surface maintenance and background maintenance are considered. The first one refers to leather goods, which will be routinely maintained with creams and wax emulsions, aiming beautification and protection against dirt. The second one is made with special oils and fats, ensuring the softness of the leather, and increasing its level of impermeability.

For the maintenance of products made of velour leather, velour splint and nubuck, fat or wax products will not be used as they would damage the surface of the leather. These types of leather are cleaned by brushing or lightly polishing with sandpaper removing dirt or stained areas and then it is recommended to use impregnation sprays (the ones we find in the supermarket are also good).

Nappa leather products should be cleaned with mild detergents (hair shampoo or liquid soap), with a sponge and a little water, avoiding complete softening of the leather. After drying at room temperature, the leather should be greased with a moisturizer cream (it is also good the classic moisturizer cream that we use for hands) and polished with a clean cotton towel.

If we do not get satisfactory results with the maintenance measures taken, the solution is a specialized cleaning. There it will be professionally cleaned and maybe it will also receive a splash of colour which will allow you to continue to enjoy your product.

Do not use on leather products, or near them: spray, acetone, acid, oil, benzene, insecticides, etc. Keep away from objects that can cause scrapes, burns, perforation or any physical action likely to damage it.

If not used for a while, products will be kept in original boxes, away from sunlight, dust or heat. Do not store the products in cramped spaces with other objects above them, a heavyweight object who will press for a long time on the leather surface of a product will make it wear out, even if the product is stored and not worn.
